Babaco is a natural hybrid in the papaya family, characterized by its seedless nature and pentagonal shape. It grows well in highland tropical climates at elevations between 3,000-6,000 feet. The fruit is harvested when it begins to show yellow coloration and will continue to ripen after picking.
