About Bell Pepper
Bell peppers are technically a fruit as they are the ripened ovary containing seeds, but in culinary contexts they are often referred to as a vegetable. They require a well-maintained cold chain to retain freshness.
Nutrition Information
Bell peppers are low in calories and rich in nutrients. One 100g serving of stripy bell pepper contains approximately 49 calories, 9g of carbohydrates, 1g of protein, and 0.17g of fat. They are an excellent source of vitamins A and C, with 101mcg and 100mg per 100g serving respectively. They are also a good source of vitamin B6, vitamin E, and potassium. Additionally, bell peppers contain antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, and are high in dietary fiber.
